About

Annie Gahan is a contemporary artist working from her rural home in South Kilkenny.

While sited within the tradition of landscape painting within Ireland, her work asks questions about

how we live in and interact with the land today, land ownership, the future of rural farming and

access to housing. Enveloping her experience working in the area of homelessness and personally

struggling to afford to live in the rural environment she grew up in.

Gahan has exhibited at the National Gallery of Ireland, the Youghal Art Centre in Co. Cork, and

held studios and showed with WASPS Studios Edinburgh and MART Studios Dublin.

A Waterford Institute of Technology graduate, in 2022, she was awarded professional arts

mentorship through Artlinks Ireland.

Her work is held in private collections in Ireland and the United Kingdom.

She is currently exploring issues of home within the context of the Irish housing emergency.
